Rhythm Detective

Instructions

1. Set the Stage

Have players form a circle and practice creating simple rhythms using claps, snaps, and stomps.

2. Choose the Detective

One player is picked as the "Detective" and steps outside the room, giving the group a moment to get ready.

3. Pick a Rhythm Leader

While the Detective is out, choose one person to be the Rhythm Leader. They’ll start a rhythm that everyone in the circle will follow, like clapping, snapping, or stomping in sync.

4. Keep the Beat... and Switch It Up

The Rhythm Leader secretly changes the rhythm every few seconds, and the group must keep up with these sneaky switches!

5. Bring in the Detective

The Detective comes back into the room and carefully watches the circle, trying to spot who’s leading the rhythm. They have three guesses to find the Rhythm Leader.

6. Who Wins?

If the Detective guesses correctly, the Rhythm Leader becomes the new Detective, and the old Detective picks a new Rhythm Leader. If not, the Detective picks someone else to be the Rhythm Leader and tries again next round.
