Popcorn Counting

Instructions

Step 1: Get Ready to Pop!

  • Clear a safe space where everyone can move freely.
  • Gather students and explain that they’ll be bouncing like popcorn kernels while counting together.

Step 2: Start Popping and Counting

  • Begin by saying, "We’re popcorn popping! Let’s count to 20 together."
  • Everyone bounces up and down, imitating popping kernels.

Step 3: Add Some Flavour

  • For more fun, vary the speed: slow pops for low numbers and quick pops for higher ones.
  • Try counting backward or in multiples (e.g., by 2s, 5s, or 10s) to mix it up.

Step 4: Cool Down

  • Finish with a big, dramatic "POP!" as everyone jumps high and freezes.
  • Celebrate their energy and teamwork with a round of applause!
